I can't figure out how to translate the number of the color into a specific paint brand...or if this is just for graphic design purposes in a program such as Adobe Illustrator.

Sorry Eli Saab and Herve Leger...there's a new fav designer in town; Zuhair Murad.

He hails from Lebannon and his creations have that applique feel that a lot of Eastern designers use. He manages to add just enough glitter and frill without making the gown look like a 1980's Prom reject piece. Tons of celebs wear his creations and I can see why. Literally E-V-E-R-Y dress on his site is amazing.

Yay yay yay! I wanted her to pick Ed from the very beginning! As soon as he came back I knew he was going to be the one.

I was so irritated that she kept picking Wes (now it was obvious that it was the producers decision) and Kiptyn. What kind of a name is Kiptyn?

Because I am preggers I am already overly emotional, but when I watched the finale, oh my goodness did I cry. I cried through 90% of it, especialy when Ed looked in her eyes and said he loved her....."sigh". The front of my shirt was soaking wet by the first 30 mins!

Although I was also really rooting for Reid, I would have been so mad if she went against her heart and chose him. Thanks Chris Harrison for saying "Are you excited about Ed being your husband? Is that what you want in your heart? Then you know what you have to do". Phew that was a close one. I thought she might actually leave Ed!

I have not yet watched "After The Final Rose" but I hope everything worked out and I hope Wes has enough nerve to actually show up and get what's coming to him. Oh and by the way, his song that he sang over and over for Jillian......it's not that good, his voice kinda sucks, and he is a fool for thinking this is going to get him good publicity...everyone thinks he's a douch! So be prepared when his total record sales are only 200 copies; 46 that his mom will buy and 164 for us all to torch.

Season 2 of The Rachel Zoe Project starts in 13 days and I am super excited! I loved season 1 so much that I just rewatched it in preparation for next Sunday.

I don't live in L.A, I don't swoon over vintage, and I am certainly not a fashionista but this show had me hooked from episode 1. Rachel is just so funny and.....so "Rachel". And I LOVE Taylor and her hillarious facial expressions while bitching about one thing or another. Rachel will shut-it-down this season!

Yes I went to see Bruno the DAY it opened! I had been waiting for this release for months and was sure it was going to be a crazy flic. What I was not prepared for was the straight on lengthly shots of Sasha's Penis flopping around while talking to the camera, the full on gay sex scenes using instruments I cannot even describe, or the amount of shocked gasps emitting from the theatre.

For about 30% of the film I was so in disbelief that I sat at the front of my chair with my hand over my mouth not knowing what to think. And there were moments when I laughed sooo hard I cried.

Was it vulgar, yes. Was it hillarious, yes. Was it all it was cracked up to be, ohh yes.

We Are......Expecting!

Today we found out we are going to have a baby! This is my first, and my husband's third.

I could not believe it when the stick showed a plus sign.....I had to look again and again to make sure! I ran into the bedroom and woke him up and started crying and laughing at the same time! We had only been trying for 2 months, so I consider this a miracle (since I was on birth control pills for 9 years!).

After talking to a good friend about my options, I have decided to go with a midwife to get that extra personal care and attention. My first appointment is not until July 16th, but according to internet calculators, the due date is Valentine's Day!

I have a "feeling" it's a girl. I just know it!

My New PINK Camera

I decided to sell my Canon Powershot G3 and downgrade to something smaller and cuter :)

The Canon was too large to tote around and had too many specs that I never used.

So, being a typical girl, my first requirement in a new camera was that it was PINK! So I decided on the Fujifilm Finepix J20. It's a beautiful shade of fuschia and has a super large screen. It also came with a super cute fuschia carrying case. The megapixels are the same as my previous camera so hopefully the pics will turn out just as nice.

Last night I learned 2 new games at the casino. For the first 30 minutes that I watched my hubby play Caribbean Stud I thought it was a stupid game with retarded odds. But then I started to understand the concept of the ante bet, and like the idea of winning that bet as long as the dealer does not qualify.

Then I ventured over to the Spanish 21 table. Now, I am a P-R-O at Blackjack, and have won countless amounts of money, but I have never wanted to dabble in Spanish 21 for fear of messing up on the 12's and 13's. Well, last night I found my new favorite game! I won $100 in 20 minutes, and I LOVE the concept of taking back half your bet, getting paid instantly on all 21's, hitting multiple times on split aces, and being able to double down anytime! How have I never played this before!!!!!!!

My First Garage Sale

Ugghh, I had so much anticipation for this film to come out. So of course on openening night May 15th I went to see it. I had read the book (I've read all of Dan Brown's works) and I must say I was not too impressed. People always say the book is better than the film, and it was so true in this case.

There were many omitted parts and storylines (obviously because of time restrictions) but I found it left gaps in the film and confused me.

The special effects and dramatic scenes were OK and generally this was a good film, but I just had too high expectations. The Da Vinci Code was my fav so far. Maybe they'll come out with Digital Fortress and Deception Point next.

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe I actually got my white SUV that I have wanted for years!

My little civic (even though it was a 2001) had seen it's life and was starting to fall apart. I had just put 1000 of work into it, so that kinda sucked. But when my hubby saw the Chevy Equinox for sale (in the white color I wanted) it was a done deal!

It's the LT model (heated seats, leather, sunroof, 6 disc changer, alloys) and I feel like the sexiest bitch driving it, ESPECIALLY with my Victoria Beckham oversized shades on. It's like driving on air!

I Just Needed A Plan

After some potentially disapointing and life changing news Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday were not good days for me. I started to think about where my life was headed and what I had accomplished and what I still felt I needed to feel complete and satisfied in my life right now. After a few days of analyzing and major stressing out, I realized that I just needed a backup plan. I needed to have some idea in my head of where life would take me and my husband in the next few years and how we would adjust those plans if things don't work out how we would like them to.
I would like to start a family before the end of 2010. I would like to put our house up for sale and buy one with more space, on a better street, and in the neighborhood of a few close friends. I would like a specific office/computer room in the new house. I would like to get an SUV for all the trips to Home Depot and the grocery store (I am sick of carting everything in a 2 door car). I would like to start going back to church every Sunday.

Some of these things may seem silly but they will help me cope if the news we are hoping to receive soon is negative. I just needed a plan to be OK with whatever the outcome is.

Very rarely I decide to venture out of my cosmetic comfort zone and try a new product. While browsing the Wal-Mart make up aisle, I decided I really wanted to try Maybeline's new Matte Mousse collection which promised flawless coverage and a smooth finish. All I can say is that this mousse will now be a staple in my cosmetics collection. While I do always start with a layer of liquid foundation, the product gives a non-oily smooth finish and is great to cover blemishes too. Love it!

Even though it's extremely periwinkle this kitchen is just so bright and happy looking to me! I absolujtely LOVE the little plants in the white pots!

On the other hand this crisp and sophisticated kitchen is absolutely stunning. The glass countertops and compass design on the floor are to die for. I think I'd have to have a cosmopolitan or a martini in my hand at all time when cooking just to do the room justice!

Not LOST Anymore

Ok so the reason I never got into LOST when it first premiered was because the last thing I wanted was another show that I had to keep up on every week. But a friend recently bought all the seasons and convinced me to start at the beginning.

With that said, I have decided to watch it when and ONLY when I am doing my elliptical work-out. Call it media motivation. The last thing I want to do when I come home from work is exercise, but the FIRST thing I want to do is watch the next episode on the DVD.

It does suck that I am only on season 1 but there are commercials on TV all the time for season 5. I have to change the channel immediately so I don't learn any secrets ahead of time.

Now that I am 6 episodes in I am addicted. The first few were a little slow but it has picked up rapidly. I just found out that the Korean lady can speak english, and Sayid just got knocked out up on the mountain! Those of you who are on season 5 are probably laughing at how far behind I am!

Anyone know of a web forum where you can discuss each episode?

I cannot WAIT to see this film! I think it looks absolutely fantastic! I know it's up for a few Oscars this year and I hope it takes at least one. Today I called Blockbuster and the DVD release date is mid March. This may be one I might actually shell out the cash to purchase.

I'm very selective when it comes to DVD's I will actually buy. I can only think of two that I have bought when they were released: The Family Stone and 21.

So apparently NBC has resorted to creating a sit-com about a Parks & Recreation employee with The Office's Rashida Jones, and SNL's Amy Poehler. Other than mockery and nervous laughter....where are the funnies in this idea? It will most definetely air for the 6 initial episodes and then will never be heard of again (unless they start giving out Razzies for primetime TV shows). Could it be that I just want it to fail because of Rashida Jones?

For all of you Jim *heart* Pam fans out there......any character Rashida plays will forever be seen as a b***ch due to her interferance in the Jim and Pam saga. I doubt I am the only one who feels this way and even though "Karen Fillipeli" was just a character, I will never be able to look at her with any warm and snuggly feelings. Dear Beloved,

Today is one of the most exciting days of our lives. Last night I couldn't sleep I was so excited. I prayed then I cried and prayed some more. I made up in my mind that today would be a great day, laid out my clothes and of course nothing went as planned. I woke up late, couldn't find my phone, and fell in the drive way and skinned my knee. As I got in the car and turned on the radio the song came on "I almost let go." The words shook my spirit "But God's mercy kept me so I couldn't let go!!!!" Then I became overwhelmed with emotion thinking of all the generations that God's mercy has kept to witness this day! Here I was getting upset because nothing went the way I planned it. Tears began to swell in my eyes when I thought of how my 88 year old grandfather "papa" would have a chance to experience the swearing of the first president that looks like him!!!!

Immediately a conversation that we had during Christmas came to mind. I asked papa was he excited about the inauguration he told yes "I like Obama because he is a great speaker." Which is kind of ironic because papa wears two hearing aids from an accident he suffered during WWII. I smiled thinking to myself papa can't hear Obama's speeches. It was as if papa read my mind he looked me dead in the eye and said "even though my ears can't hear every word my heart does!!!" The more I thought of papa the more I cried tears of joy. I thought about all that papa had endured in his 88 years and I cried even more because today his day!!!

Today is for every papa,big Daddy,Gigi, big momma,Nana, who blood sweat and tears made this possible. Today is for every great-great-great grandparent who built this country in the on the strength of their backs!!!! Today is not about being the first in line at Starbucks or being VIP at the after parties. Today is about reflection and sharing the experience with all those who have worked so hard and that God has kept for so long to see this day!!!

Remember that no matter what happens today God's mercy is keeping you and if he brought your grandparents,great grandparents, and great great grandparents through he will do the same for you.

THAT'S Why I Was Feeling So Down

Yesterday I was so blue, so down, and almost...depressed. I couldn't figure out why and there was nothing specific that I could blame (other than the fact the it was Jan 19th and I still haven't started my New Years diet). Well I discovered that it was Blue Monday. Yes, Blue Monday is actually the one day of the year that is statistically most depressing. It's one of the days with the least sunlight of the year, it's 3 weeks after Christmas and everything has settled back into normalcy, and IT'S A MONDAY. So once I found that out I felt a little better, but man was it a hard day! So a little shopping did the trick!

When I first heart about Whitney getting her own spinoff I was a little wary, as Whitney has always been a private person and how interesting could this new show really be?

Whoah was I mistaken! After Monday's premier, I am totally hooked.

SO here I go starting a weekly recap of The City........

Because I am not as gifted a writer as Paige is with her Hills recap in her blog, I am only posting little snip-its of my thoughts.

-Why doesn't Whitney have a place to live yet? You'd think MTV would have hooked her up and at least provided a roof over her head. I cannot wait to see how she decorates her own apartment.

-Erin completely reminds me of Audrina. From the way she does her hair, her facial expressions, and the small prominant lips, she will fit well into the role of "ask the required questions, listen and nod, be the filler friend in Whitney's life". I do think she's gorgeous though.

-Do we all not die for Jay's accent?

-I got my first pair...umm....when I was coming out for my Deb when I was like, I think 18

-What is up with Olivia asking about Jay all the time? I would bet money that a secret will come out that Jay and Olivia hooked up and she's not quite over him. She's asking Whitney (someone she just met 2 days ago) a lot of personal questions about him and she comes off really creepy.

-I don't care what people say, Kelly Cutrone seems wonderful. She is so helpful and nurturing to Whitney and I really hope they include more of her in the show. I think her advice and reactions are priceless and there's just something I sense about her that's different in The City.

-My first pair was umm...I think I was.....17 for my Deb ball.

And how convenient is it that whenever anyone in The Hills and in The City goes out to a club, a rival always shows up? (it's not likeTenjune is the ONLY place to go in New York).

-While I am not a fan of the opening music, I absolutely LOVE the way they began most of the clips in this episode........no music.....just sounds of the streets below with the cabs, the pigeons.......it makes you feel like you are actually in New York. Loves it.

UPDATE: I just don't have it in me to post weekly updates, but even after the 2nd week, I still love The City!

A few months ago I posted about an amazing website I found called Brocade Home I love everything on their site and wanted a house full of brocade.

I have since found a love for anything toile, damask, and flocked. For those of you who think I am speaking chinese, they are terms for patterns that are quite often used in the decorating world. I feel like I need to reinvent myself and have a "new me" in 2009. So here are my resolutions for this year:

1) Lose the 30 pounds I put on in 2007 and 2008

While this picture pretty much sums up a career path I considered while growing up, I did not become an interior designer and have reduced my creativity to scrapbooking and "once-in-a-while" home projects.

Lately I have been bit by some sort of "design" bug and spend a lot of my time viewing interior design and architecture sites. Some of the images I find are beyond beautiful and make me wish I had explored this career further. But instead I just copy them to my computer and add in my own little touches like accessories and images that I think would complement the room.

Super Cool Wall Tattoos

White browsing the net, I came across this awesome site that sells wall tattoos (basically peel and stick wall designs).

Then I realized that my new found "phenomenon" is actually not that new of an idea, and there are lots of sites that offer amazing designs for anywhere from $50-200.

Most of the designs seem to have a "vector art" feeling to them with swirls, and foliage, and the ever popular vector circles. I love vector art and now I absolutely LOVE wall tattoos. I can guarantee that our new home will have at least 3 rooms adorned with wall tattoos.

Back To The "Left Behind" Series

After watching the 4 rapture videos that I mentioned in an earlier post, I was reminded of the very popular "Left Behind" books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B Jenkins. I read these books in my teens, but only got to #9 "Desecration". There are 7 additional books that have since come out and they spark my interest greatly. I think I'll have to start over at #1 to catch up on all the characters again, as it was so long ago since I read them.

This really is an amazing series and even though they deal with the end times and a lot of scripture, there are characters, and plots, and each book will truely keep you on the edge of your seat. It makes me laugh though when I found them under the "fiction" section of the library.

1970's Rapture Films

Although they were very popular in the 70's and early 80's, I bet a lot of people don't remember the "scare you out of your pants" rapture films brought to the screen by Mark IV P roductions. I DO!

I was around 13 when I borrowed them from a lady in our church (this was in the 90's) and I watched them over and over. They became imprinted in my memory and I found them captivating. I was already a believer but I have always been really interested in "end times" material. I have not seen the movies in over 10 years and I recently found them all on YouTube!

I am currently on the 3rd film of the 4-film series. While these films are somewhat graphic and explicit, I think it paints a fairly accurate picture of the tribulation according to Revelations and I would really encourage anyone who is even a little bit curious about what will happen to the non believers after the Lord's coming to watch these movies.

I Finally Saw It

I finally decided to watch Grease on Sunday night...I know....I know, but I just never watched it when I was young. It was ok...just ok. A lot of hype over nothing I think.

There are tons of other cult classics that I am often made fun of by my best friend for never having seen them. These include:

A Disapointment For Sure

I had never seen the original movie and if I had, I might have skipped the remake. I'll admit, I did not know the movie revolved completely around aliens coming to earth (I thought it would be more of a "natural disaster" flick) but even after getting used to the idea of a 70 foot steel robot standing in Central Park, I still thought it was extremely far fetched and put together very poorly, especially the ending. When the screen went black and the credits rolled, I looked over at my husband and said "ummmm.....ok....that's it?" Needless to say I was not a fan. Not a fan.

Martha Does It Again

Despite being under house arrest for five months a few years ago, she still comes up with ideas that are crisp and brilliant. I found these Martha Stewart carpet tiles at Apartment Therapy that I think are totally practical and can add so much to any room, especially an entrance.

I am loving the light green pictured above and they look super easy to clean. It's a great way to add color and texture to a room without having to commit to a full laydown of carpet.

I am so sick of everyone ragging on Christina Aguilera for supposidy copying Lady Gaga's look. Christina has been around for over a decade now and I highly doubt that this seasoned "Princess Of Pop" has resorted to duplicating the image of a Kyleigh Minogue wannabe. Don't flatter yourself Lady Gaga, there are lots of similar haircuts and looks going around the music industry.
If we want to talk about copycat artists, lets compare Christina's 2007 Back To Basics tour with Britneys new album that was just released 3 days ago! Both are circus themes and the similarities are uncanny. I love Britney, but I think it's time Christina is given some slack.

The Most Beautiful Woman In The World

She is my opinion of the most beautiful woman in the world. When I first saw Donalds daughter Ivanka on The Apprentice a few seasons back I was struck by her beauty. She was so poised and confidant as her fathers "advisor" for the episode and I think she is a great role model considering all the other celebrities out there who claim to be role models. She has some of the same features as "Phoebe" from "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" but yet I do not find Phoebe that beautiful. Hmmm.

She also makes an amazing jewelery line. I love how most of the prices are shown on the site (something not a lot of clothing or jewelery lines do). Her Pagoda line is my fav. I love almost every piece, I also like her Mixed Cut Line. Although, I must say that for an impatient person, the flash website is a little slow transferring between imaegs.

Why Oh Why Can't I Get Through These

I've had American Psycho for almost 6 months, and The Truth About Diamonds for 2 years, and I just can't for the life of me finish either of them.

I obviously bought TTAB because of my love for Nicole Richie. The book was OK and had a lot of juicy plot lines, but I just never got around to finishing it. I then moved on to other reads.

I bought American Psycho because I heard that it was very gruesome (yup I'm a sicko). But I have yet to get to the good parts, and everything i've read so far is just borring. I find the characters unentertaining and a chore to read about.

But since these are the only two books I have NOT borrowed from the library, I feel I must get my money's worth and finish them soon.

Today I realized that my blog makes me very happy.

There was a time when I felt my blog was bogging me down, and it was a chore to maintain it.

Now I love what it represents (my likes, dislikes,) and it gives me a chance to save all my creative ideas, or things I see that I might want to look over again in the future. I view it as a "memory box" for the digital age. I like searching for all the pictures for my posts, and love seeing the imges that make me smile, thus it makes me happy. Does yours make you happy. Adorable 40's Navy Pin Up Vectors

I found these super cute vector drawings online, and after some searching I found out they are part of the advertising campaign for an Xbox game called Battlestations Midway. I think the women in this decade were very sensual and feminine, so I can see why they used these images for the game. I wish they had made more, but all I can find are these 12. I just watched the trailer for the air/sea attack game, and it looks really cool. I don't think they have a version for PS2 though.

My Creativity Stops There

I can scrapbook like a mo-fo, create enless beautiful craft projects, and tickle the ivories to my own composed songs, but when it comes to drawing, my creativity stops there. I would LOVE to be able to draw fashion sketches especially haute couture like the ones above, but I cannot for the life of me make a human form look like anything other than a cammel with an extra hump (yes I've tried in an embarassing game of Pictionary).

If I lived in LA I would definetly enrol at FIDM but I guarantee I would get a 36% in sketch class.

I have 3 tattoos already and all three of them I regret. But I don't think that would stop me from getting my new obesssion.........an exact replica of Nicole Ritchie's ankle rosary tattoo. I am struggling with the question of whether this tattoo would be blasphemous to my Christian faith. I do not pray to Mary, but to Jesus. I like the idea of a cross being on my body, but does the chain portion then make it a rosary? I might have to look into this a bit more first!

I saw some Elie Saab gowns on celebrities, and they are so beautiful! I liked almost every dress I saw. I was disapointed though when I went to his site, and the gowns in his show and collection are not nearly as impressive as what I saw the celebs wearing on the red carpet recently. These are my 3 fav.

I also love this Elie Saab ad. Everything about it, the gown, the background, the pose....simply elegant.

Loving Marchesa's Designs!

Rachel Zoe is a huge fan of Marchesa and since watching The Rachel Zoe Project, I too have come to love their designs. They use a lot of black and white combined with embroidered patterns and lace. They also incorporate tons of organza, chiffon, and tulle which I LOVE. I've also noticed that frills and bunching of fabric is big in the Marchesa line. So cute. While the black and white pieces are very crisp and sophisticated, they also have some beautiful pastel gowns with lovely frills, and whimsical features.

Marchesa is definetly more friendly to my body type, as Herve Ledger was NOT (they call it a bandage dress for a reason). These are my top Marchesa designs.

And I love their ad photos. So light and angelic how the fabric flows in these unique shots.
